OZSS Consultation

The Quasi-Zenith Satellite System (QZSS) is a regional GNSS enhancement system designed to improve positioning accuracy and reliability across the Asia-Pacific region, particularly in Japan. Operating alongside GPS, BeiDou, and Galileo, QZSS provides additional positioning signals, augmentation services, and redundancy to mitigate urban canyon effects and improve availability.

OZSS Frequency Band Advantages

  • Interoperability with Multi-GNSS Systems
QZSS is designed to work seamlessly with GPS, Galileo, and BeiDou, ensuring improved accuracy and resilience for users across the Asia-Pacific region.
  • Multi-Frequency Signal Benefits
QZSS transmits multiple frequency signals (L1C, L2C, L5, L6) that reduce ionospheric errors, improve positioning accuracy, and enhance performance in obstructed environments.
  • High-Precision and Augmentation Services
QZSS supports Real-Time Kinematic (RTK) and Precise Point Positioning (PPP) services, enabling centimetre-level positioning accuracy for high-precision applications.
  • Reliable Positioning in Urban Canyons
The unique quasi-zenith orbit ensures better satellite visibility and signal availability in urban environments where traditional GNSS signals struggle.
  • Future-Proofing for Next-Generation Applications
QZSS is continuously evolving with planned satellite expansions, supporting emerging technologies such as UAV navigation, autonomous vehicles, and 5G NTN solutions.
